The MCP3208 is a 12-bit successive approximation register (SAR) analog-to-digital converter (ADC) from Microchip Technology, designed for data acquisition systems. It features 4 to 8 input channels with pseudodifferential or single-ended input types, supporting a sampling rate of up to 100k samples per second. The device uses an external reference and connects via SPI interface, ideal for multiplexed sample-and-hold applications with a 1:1 S/H:ADC ratio. Operating over 2.7V to 5.5V analog/digital supplies, it withstands -40°C to 85°C and comes in a 16-SOIC surface-mount package, currently active in the market
